Route

Chopta → Tungnath Temple (~3.5 km, steady ascent) → Chandrashila summit (~1.5 km further, steeper) → return to Chopta same day, or split across two days with an overnight near Tungnath.

Fitness & Difficulty

Suitable for reasonably fit beginners. The trail is well-defined and doesn't require technical climbing, but the final stretch to Chandrashila is steep.

Age Suitability

Generally suitable for ages 10–60 in good health; check with us if travelling with children or older family members.

The trail to Tungnath is easy-moderate; the final stretch to Chandrashila is steeper and needs good footwear and reasonable fitness, but no technical skill.
